I bought two new ones probably 6 months ago, but they cost me about £100 from Germany. (my notes would probably tell me for certain.) I also have a NordMende Globetrotter 808, and like the Grundig, it takes the Sonnenschein 2G3S (I think) dryfit battery. I think the solution only came with a new battery. I also had a problem where the volume would mute on a fully charged battery! I tried various things, like a new chip, the muting transistor and a couple of resistors. A good clean up cured it - I think I dismantled it, but not certain. I have had my Sat 600 since late and did have volume pot problems once.
